5 steps to be followed for the fire risk assessment process

The fire risk assessment is a straight process which can be completed in 5 simple steps. These have been recommended by the government. All the businesses running in the United Kingdom should carry out this assessment.

Government

A) Firstly all the fire hazards should be identified. For this the premises must be scanned all over and the sources of ignition, oxygen & fuel must be spotted. There may be various sources for ignition but it is comparatively easy to spot them.

B) Secondly one must spot the people who have the maximum chances of being harmed by the fire. One must even keep in mind the frequent visitors of that company.

C) Thirdly one must find out that how the fire may take place & who would be at the maximum risk. The risk levels must be assessed properly and further measures must be taken to minimize the risk.

D) The fourth step includes the recording of all the observations and findings of the person doing the assessment. There are free forms available on the net to help a person do his recordings.

E) The risk assessment gets finished at this stage but it is really very important that these steps must be followed time and over again at regular intervals. This is the fifth step.
