Unlike Most moving services, U-Pack Doesn’t Charge For Unused Space
When it comes to Moving, it often pays to think outside the box. Sometimes this can be the case quite literally, such as with upack.com, an alternative to both traditional moving services and the Truck Rental method of moving. In this case, rather than renting a truck or cube van and taking responsibility for packing, loading, fueling, driving, unpacking and returning the vehicle, your role is to pack your belongings into moving boxes and load them in the moving vehicle. That’s it. While you do supply the labor, you save substantially compared to having movers do the entire job, without having to worry about the hassle involved with the transportation.
To understand how this Moving option differs from that used by all the other companies, one of the key concepts is that upack.com calculates your moving costs based on the amount of space your belongings will take up; you pay only for the space your moving boxes occupy in a trailer or ReloCube. It bears mentioning that a ReloCube is a relatively compact (6’ x 7’ x 8’) shipping container that can fit in a standard parking space. The ReloCube is dropped off in your parking spot and you have up to three business days to load it up, then it’s picked up and driven to its destination (usually taking only two to five business days to move anywhere in the US). With three days to load and convenient parking that doesn’t interfere with neighbors, you can pack without pressure. After delivery, you have another three days to unload the ReloCube. Unlike a Truck Rental service, you have no additional costs to worry about -no fuel charges, insurance charges or return fees.
For larger moves, a 28 foot trailer is provided, similar to the big rigs you see with the nationally advertised moving services. The difference is that instead of paying for the entire trailer, you only pay for as much as you use. Once your belongings are fully loaded, you put up a bulkhead (which is provided for the purpose) that segregates your belongings from the empty space in the trailer. The remaining space is then used to transport commercial goods, effectively subsidizing the cost of your move. The bulkhead completely protects your moving boxes from any possibility of damage and the commercial cargo is never hazardous in nature. You do the packing and take care of loading and unloading the trailer, but don’t have to worry about having to drive the truck. Your costs are significantly lower than other moving services, but once again you have no concerns about the charges that Truck Rental firms often tack on.
While you might think it’s something new, in fact ABF U-Pack Moving has been in business for over 80 years and The Better Business Bureau gives upack.com an A+ rating, so you can relax knowing that the logistics of your move are in capable, experienced hands. And more of your money remains in yours.
